The Wilwood Residual Pressure Valve is designed to maintain a small amount of hydraulic pressure in the brake lines to reduce excessive pedal travel and improve brake response in both disc and drum brake systems. These valves are especially beneficial in performance, off-road, and racing applications where vibration, fluid drain back, or spring tension can negatively affect pedal feel.

2 lb valve: Ideal for disc brake systems where the master cylinder is mounted below the calipers, preventing fluid drain back without causing brake drag.

4 lb valve: Commonly used in high vibration environments such as off-road vehicles and dirt track racing.

10 lb valve: Required for drum brake systems to counteract return spring tension and maintain proper wheel cylinder sealing.

Each valve is precision machined from billet aluminum and color coded for easy identification. Valves are sold without fittings.

Residual pressure valves help maintain consistent brake pedal feel by preventing fluid drain-back and excessive piston retraction. In disc systems with low-mounted master cylinders, a 2 lb valve keeps the system primed without dragging the pads. In harsh vibration environments, a 4 lb valve improves pedal consistency, while drum brake systems require a 10 lb valve to overcome return spring pressure and maintain proper sealing.
