Wide Open Design heavy duty, quad-wrapped suspension limit straps are built for real off-road abuse. Designed to control suspension droop and prevent over-extension, these limit straps protect shocks, CV axles, and drivetrain components in high speed, high impact, and extreme articulation environments.

Each strap is quad-wrapped and sewn with four layers of high strength webbing, paired with 4130 chromoly end tabs for maximum durability. Built to order in 1" increments, these straps ensure proper fitment for custom suspension setups where accuracy matters.

Includes:

  • (1) Wide Open Design Limit Strap
  • Quad-wrapped webbing with chromoly ends

Sold Individually

Specifications
  • Quad-wrapped, 4-layer sewn construction
  • Webbing tensile strength: 10,000 lbs
  • Webbing material rating: 14,000–15,000 lbs
  • End tabs: 4130 Chromoly, rated 15,000 lbs
  • Bolt hole size: 1/2"
  • Measurement method: Center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole
  • Available lengths: 6"– 44" (1" increments)

Fitment
  • Universal fit for custom suspension applications

How to Measure for the Correct Length:

  1. Install or weld mounting tabs so they are in line with each other and aligned with the direction the strap will pull
  2. Cycle suspension to full droop
  3. Measure from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole
  4. Subtract the calculated stretch amount
  5. Order the resulting strap length

Stretch Calculation Example:

Measured distance: 18.50" eye-to-eye
Stretch factor: 0.083" (approximately 1" of stretch per 12" of strap)
Calculation: 18.50" × 0.083" = 1.54" stretch
Final strap length: 18.50" − 1.50" ≈ 17" strap

Important Note:
The tab on the limit strap and the tab welded to the chassis must be aligned in the direction the strap pulls. Misalignment can cause premature wear or failure.

Tech Insight

Limit straps are a critical component in any custom suspension system. Without them, the force of the vehicle’s unsprung weight can over-extend shocks, damage internal shock components, and force CV axles past their safe operating angles.

WOD Limit Straps limit maximum suspension droop, helping prevent:

  • Shock damage during jumps or high speed rough terrain
  • CV axle over-angulation
  • Premature wear on suspension and drivetrain components

Built with heavy duty materials, these straps are designed to handle heavier axles and aggressive suspension geometry without failure.
