Sometimes the best days happen when you shut the shop doors, load up the trailers, and hit the trail. Recently, the Wide Open Design crew headed to Adventure Off-Road Park in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, for a full day of trail riding, rock crawling, and testing a few fresh builds before they headed home with their new owners.
This trip gave us the opportunity to put several new rigs through their first real trail ride. Matt Ryan made the trip all the way from the Sacramento, California area to spend time behind the wheel of his rig, while Jeremy Knight brought his Jeep LJ down from Kentucky to join the group. We also had Richard McIntosh's FJ-40 out on the trails for additional testing and shakedown miles.
The weather couldn't have been much better. The trails were still wet from recent rain, but traction stayed surprisingly good throughout the day. From technical rock sections to scenic trail riding, AOP Tennessee once again proved why it's one of our favorite wheeling destinations in the Southeast. More importantly, it gave everyone a chance to spend time together, learn their new rigs, and become part of what we call the Wide Open family.
Days like this remind us why we build these vehicles in the first place. They're meant to be driven, enjoyed, and shared with good people. We had an incredible day on the trails and we're already looking forward to the next trip to Adventure Off-Road Park.
