Trail Ride Along at Tackett Creek in TN with Wide Open Design

Sometimes the best days aren't spent in the shop—they're spent on the trail. The Wide Open Design crew recently loaded up a collection of Jeep YJs, TJs, LJs, JKs, and custom-built trail rigs and headed to the legendary Tackett Creek trail system in East Tennessee for a weekend of wheeling, great views, and even better company.

Known for its steep climbs, technical rock obstacles, mountain ridges, and incredible scenery, Tackett Creek offers some of the best trail riding in Tennessee. From challenging hill climbs and off-camber sections to scenic overlooks and hidden destinations like the historic plane crash site, the trail system has something for every type of off-roader.

This trip wasn't about racing or testing parts. It was about getting out with friends, exploring the mountains, and enjoying everything that makes East Tennessee wheeling special. The day ended with an unforgettable sunset overlooking the mountains, reminding everyone why we spend so much time building these vehicles in the first place.

Whether you're driving a Jeep YJ, TJ, LJ, JK, buggy, or trail rig, Tackett Creek remains one of the premier off-road destinations in the Southeast.

Days like this are what the Wide Open Life is all about.
