The Wide Open Design Wilwood HydroBoost Brake System is a high-performance braking solution engineered for heavy off-road rigs, rock crawlers, Ultra4 race cars, and custom tube chassis builds. By combining a compact Wilwood 1-1/8" tandem master cylinder with a powerful hydraulic-assist HydroBoost unit, this system delivers exceptional stopping power and a consistent pedal feel for vehicles running large tires, one-ton axles, and full hydraulic steering.
Designed specifically for custom fabrication, this compact "short version" HydroBoost system saves valuable firewall and engine bay space while simplifying brake plumbing. Each HydroBoost unit is modified in-house with -8 AN flow and return fittings for improved reliability and easier integration into custom hydraulic steering systems.

Installation Notes
HydroBoost systems use hydraulic pressure from the power steering pump instead of engine vacuum. This provides significantly more braking force and consistent pedal feel, especially on vehicles equipped with large tires, aggressive camshafts, or full hydraulic steering.
Heavy rock crawlers and race vehicles often operate at low engine RPM or with aggressive camshafts that produce very little vacuum. HydroBoost maintains consistent brake assist regardless of engine vacuum, making it a proven solution for extreme off-road conditions.
The Wilwood Compact Tandem Master Cylinder reduces weight while saving valuable firewall space. Its compact design simplifies plumbing and makes installation easier in tight tube chassis, buggy, and LS swap engine compartments.
This HydroBoost kit is ideal for rock bouncers, Ultra4 race cars, custom tube chassis builds, LS and LT engine swaps, Jeeps running one-ton axles, and any off-road vehicle requiring maximum braking performance.
