One of the weakest points on a hard-used 14-bolt axle is the pinion area.
That’s why Wide Open Design developed the 14-Bolt Tie-In with Pinion Guard. This heavy-duty weld-together kit ties the front pinion area directly into the axle truss, spreading impact across the housing instead of concentrating all the force on the pinion nose.

Easier Maintenance on the Trail
One of the best features of the bash guard is the drilled and tapped back plate. Instead of fighting with loose nuts behind the guard during maintenance, the bolts thread directly into the back plate. That means:
- easier installation
- easier removal
- fewer loose hardware problems
- faster trail repairs
especially important when working on the vehicle in the dirt or on the trail.
Designed Around WOD 14-Bolt Trusses
This kit was designed specifically around the Wide Open Design 14-bolt truss system for the best fitment and strength.
It may work with other trusses, but modifications will likely be required. Combined with WOD link tabs and suspension mounts, this setup creates a strong front housing package capable of handling off-road abuse.
