The Wide Open Design 14-Bolt Pinion Tie In with Pinion Guard is a heavy duty weld together kit made to strengthen and protect your 14-Bolt axle and provide clearance for multiple yoke sizes. Built from 3/8" and 1/4" thick steel, this kit creates a rigid connection between the pinion area and your truss, increasing housing strength.

The 3/8" thick Pinion Guard is drilled and tapped, eliminating the need for separate nuts and making service easier. The guard is shaped to clear 1350, 1410, and 1480 yokes, ensuring maximum protection without interfering with driveline movement.

Designed around the Wide Open Design 14-Bolt Truss, this kit may work with other trusses but modifications will be required.

A pinion guard is essential for protecting the yoke, U-joint, and pinion area from rocks, stumps, and front impact hits. By tying the guard into the truss, this kit transfers impact load away from the pinion nose and into the stronger truss structure. The drilled and tapped back plate makes maintenance and replacement simple—no reaching around with a wrench or losing hardware on the trail.
