Yukon GM 10.5" 14-Bolt Master Overhaul Kit for '89-'98 Rear Differentials
YUKYK GM14T-B
This GM 10.5" 14 Bolt Master Overhaul Kit is designed for rebuilding 1989–1998 GM 14 Bolt truck rear differentials used in heavy-duty towing, commercial, and off-road applications. The kit includes Timken bearings and races along with seals, shims, hardware, and setup materials commonly replaced during differential service.
GM 10.5" 14 Bolt axles are widely known for their strength and large ring gear design, but proper bearing preload and gear setup remain critical. This version uses the early-style pinion seal with a 2.200" hub diameter and includes the correct pilot bearing configuration for 1989–1998 axle assemblies.
Includes:
- Carrier Bearings and Races
- Pinion Bearings and Races
- Pilot Bearing
- Pinion Seal
- Complete Shim Kit
- Pinion Nut
- Crush Sleeve
- Thread Locker
- Gear Marking Compound with Brush
- Differential Gasket
Note:
- Ring gear bolts are NOT included with this kit.

Tech Insight
The GM 10.5" 14-Bolt rear axle is widely used in heavy-duty truck applications because of its large pinion support, massive carrier bearings, and strong ring gear design. Even with its reputation for durability, worn bearings, crushed preload spacers, and fatigued shim packs can create gear noise and premature wear over time.
When rebuilding a 14-Bolt differential, replacing all preload and bearing components is critical to maintaining correct backlash and gear tooth contact patterns. Reusing worn crush sleeves or bearings can result in inconsistent preload, excessive heat, and shortened gear life—especially in towing and off-road applications where driveline load is significantly increased.
