The Rugged Radios VHF Half-Wave No-Ground-Plane Antenna provides a VHF antenna option for a race or trail vehicle where the mounting location does not offer a broad metal roof or body panel. Its no-ground-plane half-wave design is useful on a cage tab or other installation where the antenna cannot depend on a conventional large ground-plane surface.

The antenna uses an NMO base and comes pre-tuned to 154 MHz within the supplier's stated VHF range. The stainless-steel whip and spring arrangement suit an off-road antenna installation, but the radio frequency and mounting hardware still need to match the system. This is a VHF antenna, so it should not be selected simply because a GMRS antenna uses a similar-looking NMO mount.

Includes:

  • VHF half-wave spring antenna
