The WOD -20 AN LS Thermostat Housing is designed to simplify coolant plumbing on GM LS engines while retaining proper thermostat operation. Precision machined from billet aluminum, it converts the factory coolant outlet to a clean -20 AN connection, making it ideal for high-flow cooling systems in LS swaps, tube chassis builds, rock crawlers, Ultra4 race cars, rock bouncers, and other custom performance applications.

Unlike many swap setups that eliminate the thermostat, this housing is engineered around the OEM 1997–2008 Corvette LS thermostat and gasket. Retaining the thermostat helps maintain proper engine warm-up, ECU coolant temperature management, drivability, and consistent cooling performance while allowing the use of large-diameter -20 AN coolant plumbing.

Includes:

  • (1) WOD -20 AN LS Thermostat Housing

If you need a thermostat, this housing is compatible with:

FAQ

Why should I keep the thermostat on an LS engine?

The engine control module uses coolant temperature during warm-up to manage fueling, ignition timing, idle quality, and other operating parameters. Retaining a properly functioning thermostat helps the engine reach and maintain its intended operating temperature for consistent drivability and cooling performance.

Does this housing include a thermostat?

No. The thermostat and gasket are sold separately unless otherwise specified.

Will this fit my LS engine?

Yes. It fits virtually all GM LS-based engines, including LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LQ4, LQ9, LM7, LR4, L33, and other LS-family engines.

Why choose a -20 AN thermostat housing?

-20 AN plumbing provides greater coolant flow capacity than smaller hose sizes, making it an excellent choice for high-horsepower engines, large-capacity cooling systems, and severe-duty off-road applications where maximum cooling performance is desired.

Which thermostat should I run?

A 160° thermostat is commonly used in dedicated race and off-road applications, while a 187° thermostat is generally recommended for most street-driven and trail-driven LS builds.

Is this housing intended for racing?

Yes. It is designed for severe-duty cooling systems found in rock crawlers, Ultra4 race cars, rock bouncers, prerunners, custom tube chassis builds, and other high-performance applications.
