The Crane Axle Chromoly Inner C is engineered from 8620 chromoly steel and provides a stronger and lighter alternative to traditional cast iron components while maintaining compatibility with factory and aftermarket Dana 60 kingpin knuckle systems.
Designed to work with Dana 60 and GM 14-Bolt axle applications, these inner C’s incorporate additional reinforcement in high-stress areas while maintaining reduced overall weight compared to heavier cast alternatives. Compatible with both MIG and TIG welding processes, these inner C’s are built to integrate cleanly into fabricated axle housings and custom suspension systems.

Fitment Notes:
The inner C is one of the most highly stressed components in a steering axle assembly, absorbing steering force, suspension load, and repeated impact stress during off-road use. Factory cast components can become a weak point when subjected to large tires, hydraulic steering, and aggressive suspension articulation.
Crane Axle uses 8620 chromoly steel to improve both strength and fatigue resistance while maintaining weldability for custom axle fabrication. The material’s hardened outer surface resists wear while the ductile inner core helps absorb shock loading without becoming brittle. Additional reinforcement in high-stress areas further improves long-term durability in rock crawling, Ultra4, and heavy-duty off-road applications.
