Crane Axle GM Dana 60 Crossover Knuckle Kit
CA01014B
The Crane Axle GM Dana 60 Crossover Knuckle Kit is designed for builders upgrading kingpin Dana 60 front axles to a crossover steering configuration for improved steering geometry, tie rod clearance, and steering stability. This system combines Crane Axle’s interlocking high steer technology with factory steering provisions, allowing the knuckles to support crossover steering setups while retaining flexibility for multiple steering configurations.
The keyed interlocking steering arm system transfers steering loads directly into the knuckle body rather than relying solely on mounting hardware clamping force. This improves steering rigidity and reduces stress on fasteners during high-load off-road use. Built from 8620 chromoly steel and machined in the USA, these knuckles are designed to withstand the repeated impact loads and steering forces common in rock crawling, trail riding, and heavy-duty off-road applications.

Tech Insight
Crossover steering systems relocate the drag link and steering linkage above the axle to improve steering geometry and reduce bump steer commonly introduced by suspension lifts. Raising the steering linkage also improves tie rod clearance and reduces the likelihood of steering component damage during off-road use.
The Crane Axle interlocking steering arm system improves upon conventional crossover steering designs by mechanically transferring steering loads into the knuckle body through keyed engagement surfaces. This reduces stress concentration on mounting hardware while increasing steering rigidity under large tire loads, hydraulic assist steering pressure, and repeated off-road impacts.
