The Crane Axle GM/Dodge Dana 60 Interlocking Knuckle Kit is designed for kingpin Dana 60 front axles used in rock crawlers, Ultra4 cars, competition buggies, and heavy-duty trail rigs. This kit combines 8620 chromoly outer knuckles, cast and machined in the USA, with Crane’s keyed interlocking high steer arm system to improve steering rigidity and long-term durability under extreme use.
Unlike traditional steering arm designs that rely heavily on mounting fasteners alone, the Crane interlocking system transfers steering force directly into the knuckle body through precision-machined keyed engagement surfaces. This reduces stress on steering hardware while improving resistance to flex and steering arm movement during large tire loads and hydraulic steering use.

Fitment Notes:
Large tires, hydraulic steering systems, and aggressive off-road use place extreme stress on traditional steering arm mounting systems. Standard Dana 60 steering arms rely heavily on fastener clamping force, which can allow movement, fastener fatigue, or steering slop under repeated shock loading.
The Crane interlocking system uses precision-machined keyed engagement surfaces between the steering arm and knuckle body to transfer steering loads mechanically instead of depending solely on bolt strength. Combined with 8620 chromoly construction, this creates a more rigid steering assembly capable of handling the severe impact loads and steering forces commonly seen in rock bouncing and Ultra4 competition environments.
