Holley GM LS Swap Oil Pan – Additional Front Clearance – 5.7 Quart
302-2
The Holley GM LS Swap Oil Pan – Additional Front Clearance is designed for GM Gen III/IV LS swaps that need more room around the front half of the oil pan than the Holley 302-1 provides. Manufactured by Holley, the 302-2 uses a revised rear-sump profile to improve clearance around crossmembers and steering linkage while maintaining OE-style sealing, oil filter mounting, structural support, and bellhousing attachment points.
This pan is a strong fit for classic GM chassis including Camaro, Firebird, Nova, G-Body, F-Body, and A-Body swaps where steering or chassis packaging makes a standard LS pan difficult to use. The cast aluminum kit includes the matched pickup tube, sump baffle, drain plug, oil filter stud, and oil passage cover needed to complete the installation.
Includes:
- (1) Holley Cast Aluminum LS Swap Oil Pan
- Sump Baffle
- OE-Style Oil Pickup Tube
- Sump / Drain Plug
- Oil Filter Stud
- Oil Passage Cover
- Required Oil Pan Hardware
Note: Oil pan gasket, dipstick and tube, oil filter, RTV sealer, and windage tray are not included.

Fitment Notes
- Provides more front oil pan clearance than Holley 302-1.
- Can be used in applications where a GM F-Body oil pan fits.
- Especially useful where steering linkage is located behind the engine crossmember.
- Not compatible with LS7 engines.
- Maximum crankshaft stroke is 3.62"; not recommended for stroker combinations exceeding this dimension.
- Engine location may still require adjustment up, down, forward, or rearward depending on crossmember, steering, and chassis configuration.
- Requires Holley P/N 302-15 dipstick and tube kit or GM dipstick P/N 12669528 and tube P/N 12625031.
- Designed to use GM F-Body windage tray P/N 12558253. Modification is required for pickup tube clearance.
- A full-length windage tray may be used if the front quarter is removed as specified in the installation instructions.
- Additional required parts include oil pan gasket 6665G or GM P/N 12612350, high-quality RTV sealer, and a compatible oil filter.
- Compatible filters include AC Delco PF48 / PF48E, Mobil 1 M1-113, Wix 57060, K&N HP-1017, or equivalent.
Tech Insight
1. What is the difference between the Holley 302-1 and 302-2 oil pans?
The 302-2 is shaped to provide additional clearance around the front half of the pan. It is the better choice when crossmember or steering linkage clearance makes the 302-1 difficult to package.
2. Is the Holley 302-2 a good choice for a G-Body LS swap?
Yes. The 302-2 is specifically listed for 1978-1987 GM G-Body applications, making it a much better choice than the 302-1 for these chassis.
3. Can I use this oil pan with an LS7 or stroker engine?
The 302-2 is not designed for LS7 engines and is limited to a maximum crankshaft stroke of 3.62". Longer-stroke combinations require a different oil pan.
4. Does this kit include the oil pickup tube?
Yes. The matched OE-style pickup tube is included along with the sump baffle, drain plug, oil filter stud, oil passage cover, and installation hardware.
5. How do I choose between the Holley 302-1, 302-2, and 302-3?
The 302-1 works well for many traditional rear-sump LS swaps. The 302-2 provides additional front clearance for chassis such as G-Body and F-Body builds. The 302-3 provides the greatest front sump and steering clearance and also adds turbo oil-return provisions. Final selection should be based on chassis clearance, steering location, and crankshaft stroke.
