Holley GM LS Swap Oil Pan – Maximum Front Clearance – 5.6 Quart
302-3
The Holley GM LS Swap Oil Pan – Maximum Front Clearance is designed for GM Gen III/IV LS swaps where crossmember, steering rack, or chassis clearance is tighter than a standard swap pan can handle. Manufactured by Holley, the 302-3 reshapes the front half of the sump for additional clearance while retaining a rear-sump wet-sump layout and OE-style sealing, oil filter mounting, structural support, and bellhousing attachment points.
This pan is especially useful for 1967-1969 Camaro/Firebird, 1978-1987 G-Body, 1982-1992 F-Body, classic GM A-Body applications, and 1979-2004 Fox Body Mustang swaps. Two built-in 1/2" NPT oil-return ports also make it easier to package turbo drain lines, while the complete kit includes the matched pickup tube and internal hardware needed to finish the oil pan installation.
Includes:
- (1) Holley Cast Aluminum LS Swap Oil Pan
- Sump Baffle
- OE-Style Oil Pickup Tube
- Sump / Drain Plug
- Oil Filter Stud
- Oil Passage Cover
- (2) 1/2" NPT Turbo Oil Return Ports
- Required Oil Pan Hardware
Note: Oil pan gasket, dipstick and tube, oil filter, RTV sealer, and windage tray are not included.

Fitment Notes
- Designed to provide more front sump clearance than Holley 302-1 and 302-2 oil pans.
- Especially useful where steering linkage or a steering rack is located behind the engine crossmember.
- Maximum crankshaft stroke is 4.00".
- Engine location may still require adjustment up, down, forward, or rearward depending on crossmember, steering, and chassis configuration.
- Requires Holley P/N 302-15 dipstick and tube kit or LS3 dipstick GM P/N 12669528 and tube GM P/N 12625031.
- Designed to use GM F-Body windage tray P/N 12558253. Modification is required for pickup tube clearance.
- A full-length windage tray may be used if the front quarter of the tray is removed as specified in the installation instructions.
- Additional required parts include oil pan gasket 6665G or GM P/N 12612350, high-quality RTV sealer, and a compatible oil filter.
- Compatible oil filters include AC Delco PF48 / PF48E, Mobil 1 M1-113, Wix 57060, K&N HP-1017, or equivalent.
Tech Insight
1. What makes the Holley 302-3 different from the 302-1 and 302-2?
The 302-3 has a revised front sump profile designed to provide additional chassis and steering clearance. It is the better choice when the 302-1 or 302-2 does not provide enough room around the crossmember or steering system.
2. Will the 302-3 fit a GM G-Body LS swap?
Yes. Unlike the 302-1, the 302-3 is designed for applications including 1978-1987 GM G-Body chassis where additional front oil pan clearance is required.
3. Can this oil pan be used in a Fox Body LS swap?
Yes. The 302-3 was designed to clear the factory Fox Body K-member and rack-and-pinion steering, making it a strong option for 1979-2004 Mustang and compatible Fox Body LS conversions.
4. Can I use this oil pan with a turbocharged LS engine?
Yes. The pan includes two 1/2" NPT oil return ports, one on each side, providing convenient drainback locations for turbocharger oil return lines.
5. Does this pan work with a stroker LS engine?
The 302-3 provides clearance for crankshaft strokes up to 4.00". Builders using a longer-stroke combination should verify rotating assembly clearance and select an oil pan designed for that crankshaft stroke.
