The Radflo 2.0 Smooth Body Shock with Remote Reservoir is a compact, lightweight suspension damper built for trail rigs, rock crawlers, prerunners, Jeeps, UTVs, and custom off-road vehicles. Its 2.0" shock body and 7/8" shaft provide strong suspension control without the size and weight of a larger shock package, making it a good fit where packaging space is limited.

Unlike a coilover, a smooth body shock does not support vehicle weight with a coil spring mounted around the shock. It is used as a dedicated damper with a separate spring system or as a secondary shock when additional suspension control is needed.

The remote reservoir increases oil and nitrogen volume while moving additional fluid capacity away from the shock body. This helps manage heat and maintain more consistent damping during extended trail use, technical rock crawling, and aggressive off-road driving.

Includes:

  • (1) Radflo 2.0 Smooth Body Shock
  • Remote Reservoir
  • Universal Spherical Bearing & Mounting Hardware

Important Notes:

  • Sold individually
  • Universal shock for custom suspension applications

Availability Note: As the #1 stocking warehouse for Radflo Performance Shocks, we maintain one of the largest inventories of Radflo shocks and springs in the industry. While many popular configurations are available for immediate shipment, certain shock configurations, custom valving packages, and special-order suspension components may require 4–6 weeks for production and delivery.

Fitment

Universal smooth body shock for custom off-road suspension applications including:

  • Rock crawlers and trail buggies
  • Jeep suspension systems
  • Prerunners and off-road race vehicles
  • UTVs and side-by-sides
  • Custom tube chassis vehicles
  • Suspensions using separate coil springs, torsion bars, or air springs
  • Secondary shock applications

Fitment Notes:

  • Select shock travel based on available suspension travel and mounting geometry.
  • Verify compressed length, extended length, mounting width, and chassis clearance before ordering.
  • Allow adequate clearance and routing for the remote reservoir and hose throughout the complete suspension cycle.
  • Shock valving should be matched to vehicle weight, suspension geometry, spring rate, and intended use.

FAQ

What is a smooth body shock?

A smooth body shock is a dedicated suspension damper without a coil spring mounted around the shock body. It is commonly paired with a separate spring system or used as a secondary shock to add damping control to an existing suspension package.

When should I use a smooth body shock instead of a coilover?

Use a smooth body shock when the vehicle's weight is already supported by another spring system or when you need additional damping without adding another coil spring. This makes smooth body shocks useful with separate coil springs, torsion bars, air springs, and secondary-shock suspension layouts.

Why choose a 2.0 smooth body shock instead of a larger 2.5 or 3.0 shock?

A 2.0 shock provides a compact, lightweight package that works well in recreational off-road vehicles, lighter trail rigs, and builds with limited mounting space. Larger shock bodies provide greater fluid capacity and heat management, making them better suited for heavier vehicles or sustained high-speed and high-load use.

What does the remote reservoir do?

The remote reservoir increases the shock's fluid and nitrogen capacity while helping manage heat during repeated suspension cycling. This improves damping consistency during extended trail use and other demanding off-road conditions compared with a similar non-reservoir shock.

Can the Radflo 2.0 Smooth Body Shock be rebuilt and revalved?

Yes. Radflo smooth body shocks are fully rebuildable and can be serviced or revalved as the vehicle setup changes. Valving can be matched to vehicle weight, suspension geometry, spring rate, and intended use.
