Tech Insight
A spool eliminates all differential action by locking both axle shafts together, making it one of the strongest and most reliable traction solutions available. With no internal moving parts like a traditional differential, failure points are minimized.
However, because both wheels rotate at the same speed at all times, turning on pavement causes tire scrub and increased driveline stress. For this reason, spools are best suited for dedicated off-road or race vehicles where maximum traction is the priority.
