The Winters GM TH350 Shift Linkage Kit 1595 connects a Winters cable-operated shifter to the shift arm on a GM TH350 automatic transmission. It provides the correct linkage arm and cable bracket to make sure movement at the shifter properly matches the gear positions at the transmission.

Using the correct transmission-specific linkage is important because the shifter needs to move the TH350 through its full range without running out of cable travel or stopping between gear positions. This kit is designed specifically around the GM Turbo-Hydramatic 350, taking the guesswork out of connecting a compatible Winters shifter to the transmission.

Use Kit 1095 when installing a compatible Winters shifter on a TH400 or when replacing linkage components that have become worn, damaged, or lost.

Includes:

  • (1) Linkage Arm – P/N 1037
  • (1) Cable Bracket – P/N 1500
  • (1) Hardware Kit – P/N 6062

Fitment

Designed For:

  • GM TH400 / Turbo-Hydramatic 400 Automatic Transmissions
  • Compatible Winters Cable-Operated Shifter Installations
  • Replacement or New Shifter Installations Requiring Winters Kit 1095

Fitment Notes:

  • This is a transmission-specific linkage kit for the GM TH400.
  • Do not select a linkage kit based only on the Winters shifter model; the linkage must also match the transmission.
  • The linkage arm and cable bracket connect the shifter cable to the TH400 transmission shift mechanism.
  • Verify that your transmission is a GM TH400 before ordering.
  • Final cable adjustment should be performed after the shifter, cable bracket, and linkage arm are installed.

Installation Note: Access to the TH400 transmission's valve body may be required during installation. This can require draining the transmission fluid and removing the transmission pan. Refer to the appropriate transmission service information before installation.

FAQ

Why does the TH350 need its own Winters linkage kit?

The Winters shifter operates through a cable, but the components connecting that cable to the transmission still need to match the TH350. Kit 1595 provides the correct linkage arm and cable bracket for making that connection and allowing the shifter to move the transmission through its gear positions.

What does the linkage arm do?

The linkage arm connects to the TH350 transmission's shift mechanism and gives the shifter cable a way to move the transmission between gear positions. Using the correct arm helps the positions at the Winters shifter correspond with the positions at the transmission.

Why is the cable bracket important?

The cable bracket holds the outer shifter cable in the correct position relative to the linkage arm. If the cable is mounted in the wrong position or at the wrong angle, the shifter may not have enough travel to fully reach every gear.

Is Kit 1595 a complete Winters SideWinder shifter?

No. Kit 1595 is the GM TH350 transmission linkage kit. It includes the linkage arm, cable bracket, and installation hardware used at the transmission. The Winters shifter and shifter cable are separate unless included as part of another package.

Can I use a Winters linkage kit from another transmission on a TH350?

No. The linkage kit should match the transmission being used. Even though several Winters shifters use the same basic cable-operated design, the transmission-side linkage and mounting requirements can be different from one transmission to another.

Why might I need to remove the TH350 transmission pan during installation?

The installation information for Kit 1595 notes that work at the TH350 shift mechanism may require access inside the transmission. If this step is required, the transmission fluid must be drained and the pan removed before accessing the necessary components.
