The Wide Open Design JC Jeep Chassis for the Jeep LJ is engineered to bridge the gap between a traditional Jeep trail rig and a full tube buggy. Designed for builders who want the comfort and appearance of a full-bodied Jeep while gaining the strength and performance of a purpose built off-road chassis, the JC platform delivers durability, safety, and performance in one complete foundation.
Constructed from 1.75" DOM tubing in both .120 and .188 wall thickness, the JC chassis uses a heavy duty design that reinforces key impact areas without unnecessarily increasing weight. Replaceable rock sliders, removable drivetrain crossmembers, and proper 4-link geometry make this chassis both builder friendly and capable of handling serious off-road abuse.
All selected options are fully welded into the chassis before delivery, creating a strong, clean, and professional finished product. This chassis can be purchased as a bare platform or configured with available options to help simplify your build.
Key Features:
Note: Does not include Jeep tub, suspension components, axles, wheels, drivetrain components, or other accessories. Only the chassis and selected custom options are included.
The JC Jeep Chassis was designed to solve a common challenge for serious Jeep builders—how to maintain the comfort and recognizable look of a Jeep while achieving the strength and suspension performance of a full tube buggy. By integrating DOM tube structure throughout the chassis, the JC dramatically increases rigidity and durability compared to factory frames.
Strategic use of .188 wall tubing in high-impact areas helps prevent dents and chassis deformation during hard trail use while still keeping overall weight manageable. The chassis also incorporates removable crossmembers to make drivetrain installation and service significantly easier during the build process.
Rear packaging space allows room for a 15-gallon fuel cell and a fabricated toolbox or cooler, making the platform well suited for both aggressive wheeling and longer trail rides.
