What Is Full Hydraulic Steering?

Full hydraulic steering removes the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and axle. Instead of a steering box moving a drag link, the steering wheel controls an orbital valve that directs hydraulic fluid to a steering cylinder mounted on the axle. The cylinder then turns the tires using hydraulic force.

Why Do Rock Crawlers Use Full Hydraulic Steering?

When running 40"+ tires and locked axles, steering loads can exceed what traditional steering boxes can reliably handle. Full hydro systems allow the driver to steer confidently when:
