If you’re building a hardcore Jeep Cherokee XJ and need steering that can handle big tires and brutal trail abuse, this PSC Full Hydraulic Steering Kit delivers. Designed specifically for 1987–1995 XJs running GM-based engines with a P-Pump, this complete system replaces traditional steering components with a matched, high performance hydraulic setup. The result is smooth, powerful steering control capable of managing 40"+ tires in extreme off-road conditions.

This is a true complete kit—no piecing components together or guessing on compatibility. PSC has engineered the orbital valve, pump kit, and double-ended cylinder to work together for consistent flow, balanced steering force, and long term durability. From the hoses and fittings to the mounting hardware, everything required for a clean installation is included.

Tech Insight

Full hydraulic steering systems eliminate the factory steering box and linkage, providing equal steering force in both directions and removing stress from traditional steering components. The 2.75 double-ended cylinder paired with a 160CC orbital valve provides balanced steering speed and torque for large-tire XJ builds.

For optimal performance and longevity, PSC recommends using PSC 715 Power Steering Fluid and installing a dedicated fluid cooler. Proper plumbing layout and heat management are critical to maintaining pump health during extended trail use.
