The Moroso 3-quart Oil Accumulator stores a pressurized reserve of engine oil and instantly delivers it back to the engine during hard acceleration, steep climbs, side hills, braking, or high-speed cornering when the oil pickup can become uncovered. It can also be used to pre-oil the engine before startup, greatly reducing the dry starts responsible for much of an engine's long-term wear.

Ideal for V8 engines, high-performance six-cylinder builds, rock crawlers, Ultra4 cars, prerunners, drag cars, road race vehicles, and other high-performance applications, the 3-quart accumulator features a heavy-wall aluminum cylinder, billet aluminum floating piston, integrated pressure gauge, and manual ball valve. What does an oil accumulator do?

An oil accumulator stores pressurized engine oil and automatically supplies it whenever engine oil pressure drops, helping protect bearings and other critical engine components.

Does an oil accumulator increase oil capacity?

Yes. A 3-quart accumulator adds approximately three additional quarts of oil capacity to the engine's lubrication system.

Will this prevent oil starvation off-road?

It helps significantly reduce the effects of temporary oil starvation caused by steep climbs, side hills, rock crawling, acceleration, braking, and cornering. It is not a substitute for a properly designed oil pan but provides an important layer of protection.

Can I pre-oil my engine before starting?

Yes. Opening the manual valve before startup allows stored oil to pressurize the engine before cranking, reducing dry-start wear.

Can the accumulator be mounted horizontally?

Yes. The accumulator can be mounted in virtually any position without affecting operation.

What engines is the 3-quart model recommended for?
