The WOD custom Radflo 2.5 3-Tube Off-Road Bypass Shock with Remote Reservoir is built for rock crawlers, Ultra4 cars, rock bouncers, desert trucks, trail rigs, and custom off-road vehicles that need more suspension control than a conventional shock can provide. Manufactured by Radflo and used in Wide Open Design builds, this 14" travel bypass shock combines velocity-sensitive internal valving with three external 3/4" bypass tubes for position-sensitive damping throughout the shock travel.
The upgraded 3/4" bypass tubes provide increased oil flow capacity, while the remote reservoir adds fluid capacity and helps manage heat during sustained hard use. A 30" high-pressure reservoir hose gives builders more flexibility when locating the reservoir in tight chassis and suspension layouts. Each shock is custom built and valved around vehicle weight, suspension geometry, and intended use.

1. What is the difference between a 3-tube and 4-tube bypass shock?
Both use external bypass tubes to create position-sensitive damping zones. A 4-tube configuration provides an additional bypass circuit, giving builders more control over how damping is divided and adjusted throughout the shock travel. A 3-tube bypass provides substantial tuning capability with a simpler package that works well for many rock crawling, trail, and racing applications.
2. What does a bypass shock do?
A bypass shock combines velocity-sensitive internal valving with position-sensitive external damping. Oil is routed through external bypass tubes at specific points in the shock travel, allowing damping to change depending on the shock's position. This helps provide a compliant ride through smaller terrain while increasing control deeper in the stroke.
3. Do I still need coilovers if I run bypass shocks?
In most custom suspension applications, yes. A bypass shock primarily controls suspension movement and does not normally support vehicle weight. Coilovers or another spring system support the vehicle, while the bypass shocks provide additional damping and suspension control.
4. What are the benefits of the upgraded 3/4" bypass tubes?
