The Radflo 3.0 External Bypass Shock – 5-Tube Remote Reservoir – 14" Travel is built for serious off-road suspension systems that need maximum damping control and consistent performance through demanding terrain. Manufactured by Radflo, this 3.0" bypass shock combines five external bypass tubes with velocity-sensitive internal valving and position-sensitive bypass control, allowing the shock to react differently throughout its 14" of travel.
A remote reservoir with a 30" high-pressure hose increases fluid capacity and moves the reservoir away from the shock body for more flexible chassis packaging. With a 3.0" body, 7/8" Nitro Steel shaft, 3/4" bypass tubes, and fully tunable construction, this shock is well suited for Ultra4 cars, rock bouncers, desert race vehicles, high-speed trail buggies, and custom off-road builds where heat management and suspension tuning are priorities.

Tech Insight

1. What does a 5-tube bypass shock do?

Five external bypass tubes create multiple position-sensitive damping zones throughout the shock travel. This gives builders greater control over how the suspension behaves at different points in the stroke.

2. What is the benefit of the 30" high-pressure reservoir hose?

The 30" high-pressure hose gives you more flexibility when mounting the remote reservoir, allowing it to be positioned away from the shock body where space, protection, and service access are better. This is especially useful on custom tube chassis and off-road suspension systems where packaging space is limited.

3. Why use an external bypass shock instead of a smooth-body shock?

A conventional shock primarily uses velocity-sensitive damping. An external bypass shock adds position-sensitive control, allowing damping characteristics to change depending on where the shock is in its travel.

4. What is the advantage of the remote reservoir?

The remote reservoir increases fluid capacity and helps manage heat while allowing the reservoir to be mounted separately from the shock body. This can make suspension packaging easier in tight custom chassis applications.

5. Why choose a 3.0 bypass shock?

The larger 3.0" shock body provides increased oil volume and thermal capacity, making it better suited for repeated high-speed cycling, racing, large impacts, and other applications that generate significant shock heat.

6. Can these Radflo bypass shocks be custom tuned?

Yes. The shock can be tuned for vehicle weight, suspension geometry, intended terrain, and driving style. The external bypass system also provides additional control over the shock's position-sensitive damping characteristics.
