Radflo 3.0 External Bypass Shock – 5-Tube Piggyback Reservoir
7BP-503-00
The Radflo 3.0 External Bypass Shock – 5-Tube Piggyback Reservoir is built for high-performance off-road suspension systems that demand serious damping control, heat capacity, and tunability. Combining velocity-sensitive internal valving with position-sensitive external bypass control, this shock allows damping to change throughout the suspension travel for better control over small terrain, large impacts, whoops, jumps, and bottom-out events.
Available in 14" and 16" travel, the 3.0" shock body, five external 3/4" bypass tubes, piggyback reservoir, and 1" shaft make this a strong choice for Ultra4 cars, rock bouncers, desert race vehicles, high-speed trail buggies, and other competition-level builds. Each shock can be tuned for the vehicle and intended use, giving builders far more control over suspension behavior than a conventional smooth-body shock.

Fitment
This is a universal performance shock, so fitment is determined by suspension geometry and mounting dimensions.
Fitment Notes:
Verify extended length, collapsed length, travel, mounting width, suspension geometry, and available clearance before ordering. External bypass shocks require additional clearance around the shock body for the bypass tubes and piggyback reservoir.
For a properly tuned suspension system, shock travel, mounting position, bypass zones, vehicle weight, spring rates, and intended terrain should all be considered together.
Tech Insight
1. What does a 5-tube bypass shock do?
The external bypass tubes allow oil to bypass the main piston at specific points in the shock travel. This creates different damping zones, allowing the suspension to behave differently depending on where the shock is in its stroke.
2. What is the advantage of an external bypass shock?
External bypass shocks combine velocity-sensitive and position-sensitive damping. This gives builders greater control over ride quality, chassis movement, large impacts, and bottom-out resistance than a conventional smooth-body shock.
3. Why choose a 3.0 bypass shock?
The larger 3.0" body provides increased fluid volume and thermal capacity for demanding applications where shocks experience repeated high-speed cycling and heat buildup.
4. What does the piggyback reservoir do?
The piggyback reservoir increases fluid and nitrogen capacity while keeping the reservoir directly attached to the shock. This eliminates the remote reservoir hose and creates a compact, serviceable package when chassis clearance allows.
5. Are these shocks custom valved?
Yes. Radflo bypass shocks can be tuned for the vehicle's weight, suspension geometry, driving style, and intended terrain. The external bypass system also provides additional tuning of the shock's position-sensitive damping characteristics.
