The RockJock AntiRock Rear Sway Bar Kit for Jeep TJ and LJ is designed to improve off-road articulation, traction, and chassis control without requiring the sway bar to be disconnected on the trail. Built as a rear sway bar replacement for Jeep Wrangler TJ and Wrangler Unlimited LJ applications, the AntiRock system allows the suspension to articulate while helping keep the chassis more predictable over uneven terrain.

At the center of the system is a .800" diameter heat-treated 4340 chromoly torsion bar paired with 15" forged chromoly sway bar arms, adjustable end links, and CNC-machined Delrin bushings. Unlike the factory sway bar, the AntiRock is designed to remain connected during both on-road and off-road driving, providing consistent roll resistance throughout suspension travel.

The frame brackets bolt to the vehicle, while the supplied axle tabs are welded to the rear axle housing. The system is intended for modified TJ and LJ builds using approximately 12" travel shocks and provides adjustable end links that can be tailored to the vehicle's ride height and suspension configuration.

Fitment Notes:

  • Designed as a replacement for the factory rear sway bar.
  • Installation is easiest with a 1" body lift. Vehicles without a body lift may require minor pinch-weld trimming beneath the rear tub.
  • Plastic inner fender liners and portions of the inner wheelwell may require trimming to provide clearance for sway bar arm up-travel.
  • Welding is required to install the supplied axle tabs to the rear axle housing.
  • Included adjustable end links are intended for approximately 4" of suspension lift and may be shortened or replaced for other ride heights.
  • Designed around 15" x 8.5" wheels with 4.5" backspacing and 35" x 12.50" tires. Other wheel and tire combinations may require additional clearance or wheel spacers.
  • In tight-clearance applications, thin 1/2"-20 nyloc nuts may be required on the heim studs to allow excess thread to be trimmed for tire clearance.
  • Factory frame width can vary between vehicles. Some installations may require a CE-9901D-SP4 shim pack to fine-tune sway bar arm spacing.

FAQ

Why use an AntiRock sway bar on a Jeep TJ or LJ?

The AntiRock is designed to provide controlled body roll while still allowing the suspension to articulate off-road. Unlike a traditional factory sway bar that is commonly disconnected for additional articulation, the AntiRock remains connected during trail and street use.

Why is the rear AntiRock tuned differently than a front sway bar?

Rear sway bar requirements differ from front applications because the rear suspension plays an important role in controlling chassis movement under acceleration, climbing, and side-to-side articulation. The .800" torsion bar provides a rear-specific rate intended to balance articulation with chassis stability.

Will an AntiRock have more body roll than the factory sway bar?

Yes. An AntiRock system allows more body movement than a typical factory sway bar. This is intentional and allows the suspension to work more independently over uneven terrain while still providing roll resistance and predictable chassis control.

Does the rear AntiRock require welding?

Yes. The frame-side brackets are designed for bolt-on installation, but the supplied axle tabs must be properly positioned and welded to the rear axle housing.

Can the end links be adjusted for different suspension heights?

Yes. The supplied end links are adjustable and intended for approximately 4" of lift. They can be shortened or replaced as necessary to match the vehicle's ride height, suspension geometry, and available clearance.
