The WOD 1350 Carrier Bearing Shaft Builder Kit provides everything needed to build a heavy-duty intermediate shaft for multi-piece driveshaft systems, custom chassis builds, and long-wheelbase off-road vehicles. Built around the proven WOD Single Ended Carrier Bearing and genuine Spicer 1350 driveline components, this kit is designed to help builders create a reliable carrier bearing system capable of handling aggressive trail use, rock crawling, racing, and high-performance off-road applications.

Carrier bearing systems are commonly used when driveline length, suspension travel, or chassis layout make a traditional one-piece driveshaft impractical. The 1350 series remains one of the most popular driveline platforms in off-road motorsports because it offers an excellent balance of strength, articulation, weight, and component availability. For many Jeep builds, trail rigs, lightweight buggies, and recreational crawlers, a properly built 1350 driveline provides more than enough strength while maintaining excellent driveline angle capability and serviceability.

    Tech Insight

What is a carrier bearing used for?

A carrier bearing supports intermediate driveshaft sections in multi-piece driveline systems. It helps control shaft whip, reduce vibration, and improve driveline stability.

When do I need a carrier bearing system?

Carrier bearings are commonly used in long wheelbase vehicles, custom chassis builds, rear-engine vehicles, and driveline systems where a single-piece driveshaft is not practical.

Is a 1350 driveline strong enough for off-road use?

Yes. A properly built 1350 driveline is commonly used in Jeeps, trail rigs, rock crawlers, Ultra4 Sportsman vehicles, and lightweight buggies.

What components work with this kit?

This kit is designed to work with WOD 1350 Driveshaft Builder Kits, Spicer 1350 Universal Joints, Spicer 1350 Yokes, 1350 Pinion Yokes, and other 1350 driveline components.

    Is this kit assembled?

No. This is a DIY builder kit intended for experienced fabricators. Welding, fitment, assembly, and final installation are required.

    Can I upgrade from a 1350 to a 1410 or 1480 later?

Yes. WOD offers complete 1410 and 1480 driveline systems built around the same Single Ended Carrier Bearing platform.
