The ARB Air Locker Differential for Dana 44 axles is the world’s premier selectable traction aid, providing 100% locking traction on demand while maintaining smooth, predictable drivability when disengaged. Designed to allow drivers to move slower, safer, and with greater control while reducing drivetrain shock, vehicle damage, and environmental impact.

The Air Locker uses a pneumatically operated locking system inside the differential. When engaged, the internal gears are fully locked together, preventing independent axle shaft rotation and forcing both wheels to turn at the same speed. This delivers maximum traction in rocks, mud, snow, and uneven terrain. When disengaged, it functions like a conventional open differential.

Important Fitment & Compatibility Notes:

  • Aftermarket Dana 44 standard-cut ring & pinion ratios of 4.56 & up require RD116 (Excludes Jeep JK)
  • Thick-cut Dana 44 ring & pinion sets (all ratios) require RD117 (Excludes Jeep JK)
  • Newer OEM Chrysler 8.25 and Dana 44 ring gears may use 3/8", 7/16", or 1/2" ring gear bolts
  • Air Locker flange holes must be drilled or reamed to accept 7/16" or 1/2" ring gear bolts
  • Always verify ring gear bolt size, cut type, and gear ratio before ordering.
