The Spicer 1480 Yoke (1.5" x 10-spline) replaces OEM part number 3-4-6901-1 and are machined by Wide Open Design to use heavy-duty U-bolts instead of factory-style straps for increased strength and improved U-joint retention. Compatible with the WOD Single Ended Carrier Bearing system, this yoke allows builders to utilize a 1480 series driveline without changing carrier bearing assemblies.

Built with a U-bolt style universal joint retention system, this yoke provides a secure connection capable of handling large tires, deep gear ratios, aggressive throttle input, and extreme suspension articulation. With a 30-degree maximum operating angle, the 1480 yoke is ideal for custom driveline systems utilizing carrier bearings, intermediate shafts, and long-travel suspension designs where strength and durability are critical.

Included Items:

Tech Insight

What is the difference between a 1410 and 1480 yoke?

A 1480 yoke utilizes a larger universal joint bearing cap and increased cross-sectional strength than a 1410. This results in greater torque capacity and improved durability in extreme-duty applications.

What U-joint does this yoke require?

This yoke is designed for standard 1480 series universal joints with a 1.375" bearing cap diameter.

Will this fit the WOD Single Ended Carrier Bearing?

Yes. This yoke is specifically designed to work with the WOD Single Ended Carrier Bearing and can be installed without modifying the carrier bearing assembly.

When should I choose a 1480 driveline over a 1410?

A 1480 driveline is typically recommended for vehicles running very large tires, high horsepower engines, competition-level abuse, or extreme driveline shock loads where maximum strength is required.

Can this yoke be used on front or rear driveshaft applications?

Yes. The 1480 yoke is commonly used in front driveshafts, rear driveshafts, intermediate shafts, and carrier bearing shaft assemblies in custom driveline systems.

Does this yoke use U-bolts or straps?

This version utilizes a U-bolt retention system, providing a stronger and more secure universal joint attachment than traditional strap-style retention.

What driveshaft kit works with this yoke?

This yoke is commonly paired with the WOD 1480 Driveshaft Builder Kit and WOD 1480 Carrier Bearing Shaft Builder Kit.
